Having more professional knowledge and ability
Psychology can be applied to people of different fields and backgrounds, including education, business, art, medical treatment, family, etc. More and more professionals in other industries are also using psychology in their own fields to help themselves and others. Psychology comes from human beings, so it applies to all human beings. Psychology enables us to fully and profoundly understand the nature of human nature, optimize the psychological characteristics that have hindered our progress in the best way. Please give the problems you can't control to professional psychological practitioners for proper handling when you do not have complete professional ability and skills to face the current problems. At the same time, people who use psychological expertise in their own fields should constantly improve their professional knowledge and skills.
"Self awareness", "Self correction", "Self appreciation"
Psychology is an effective tool to help us understand and optimize ourselves; consciously focuses on the self motivation and behavior currently. It will help us to break the "psychological blind spot" that we are prone to, so that we can better achieve "self-awareness" and "self correction". "Self-awareness" includes constant exploration of one's external behavior and internal psychological defense. "Self correction" needs more courage and confidence to fight against the structures and habits that often exist in our mind.
Any individual who constantly emphasizes that he is a master or expert should constantly increase his value in the process of practicing. Learn more knowledge and skills to help himself improve. No one is good at all fields. We should become professionals in one field. It also represents the importance of self value-added. It is the core of our professional ability.
Psychology is not a field to work behind closed doors. In addition to strengthening theoretical knowledge, it should be applied in life. Mining own skills from practical application and supporting it with more powerful evidence and data. At the same time, collaboration is one of the best ways for us to better play the role of psychology. Giving partners full trust and support can allow us to continuously benefit more people.
Respect for all intellectual property rights and achievements
In the process of using, communicating, publishing and teaching psychological knowledge, individuals often need to quote other people's knowledge and data. When quoting other people's knowledge and data, we should mark the source of reference and respect other people's knowledge copyright and knowledge achievements. Many people contribute to the development of psychology. More people will do the same in the future. Therefore, we need to remember these great psychologists and pass on their knowledge of psychology that has great value to humans. It is the key and our responsibility to mark the source of reference and respect the creativity and work of knowledge contributors.
Pay attention to your current professionalism
Psychology is not a weapon for us to show off, but a tool for us to explore ourselves, optimize ourselves, and benefit others. We should ask for permittion using psychology to explore others objectively, rather than force them to do so . When we start trying to "manipulate" the lives of others, we should stop ourselves. Examine and review our previous words, deeds and motives and make the most appropriate adjustments.
Any professional or institution approved by IPMC shall not establish improper personal or business relationship with clients or students. The inappropriate relationship is marked by the significant difference of power, money and lust. For example, professionals have an inappropriate influence on the personal work and life of students or clients. Professionals or institutions recognized by IPMC should observe the professional ethics and professionalism in our field.
We should respect and care about the privacy of others. We shall not intentionally violate, disclose, sell or distort other people's privacy information without the consent of students or clients.
While providing our professional knowledge and information to others, it must be true and accurate, and conform to its knowledge and beliefs. No false information shall be given to any other person for any purpose.
Free Speech and respect for feedback from others
Whether it is a professional communication institution or an individual practitioner of psychology, they should not control, monopolize or restrict the freedom of others to express themselves. Open discussion is one of the best ways to learn. It allows us to master more important information to maintain our original intention of continuous learning. Often, in intense discussions and transformative work, more positive sparks can be created. With respect and humility, listening to the feedback of others is one of the necessary abilities as a psychologist.
Respect the origin of Psychology
Psychology comes from the ancient mysticism and philosophy, from which we can understand the true meaning of human nature. In the process of evolution, modern psychology has been constantly innovating. It is highly recommended and encouraged by us to use instruments, data and templates to verify the psychological effects so as to apply them to a wider range of fields. But we can't deny the value of the efforts and sources of the predecessors of psychology. We evaluate affairs more objectively only when we have a clearer and more complete understanding of a subject and start to learn in depth from the most basic part. This is a responsible and dedicated attitude and a reflection of professionalism.
Promote the development of psychology to a higher level
Professionals or institutions recognized by IPMC should strive to promote the integrity of research, teaching, practice and development of psychology in any field. We should put the interests of our clients and the entire society above our personal interests.
Although positive thought exchange and discussion are encouraged, IPMC-accredited professionals or institutions should respect and listen to others' opinions and treat them with an open mind. In public discussion, differences in psychological theory and application should be determined according to the event itself, and the content should be dealt with, not aiming at person. We should try our best to convey our information and express our opinions in words and ways that the other party can understand.
Ethical Pledge
All IPMC-accredited professionals or organizations must recognize and agree to all the requirements in the "IPMC Ethical Guidelines" to ensure compliance with the terms and codes.
