Working Together in Uncertain Times
How much the world has shifted in just the last few days! It was only 2 weeks ago that we gathered for our in person meeting of the Global Board of Directors in San Francisco, California. I am so grateful we had that time together as it would no longer be possible with the containment happening all around the globe. We have all been saddened and concerned as we see the situation and response in each of our countries. Nothing makes you more aware of how connected each of us are than to see the same challenges hit our cultures in their own way. Whether we come from Sweden, Spain, Egypt, Colombia, China, or any other corner of the world we all want our families to be healthy and happy and come together in community. It reminds us how more than ever we need each other and to put our differences aside, a message that has drawn many of us to study and teach about the Enneagram.
2020 IEA Board of Directors
With the state of our world in these days, I am even more confident in the strategic goals for 2020-2021 that we outlined at our meeting. We developed these by combining knowledge of feedback from you, our members and guests, the momentum and positivity of 2019, our rich history and traditions as well as new innovative ideas.
Our strategic goals for 2020-2021 are:
Reach- spread the message to more people and places
Relationship- enhance value for our members and strengthen our bonds of community
Roots- ensure needed structure and resources for current and future effectiveness
Results- understand what works to build a sustainable future
Working from these guiding principles we have outlined the initiatives, projects and events we will be working on (more on this to come!). We are so honored to be working for you as a unified team each with our gifts and talents to serve the community. Please reach out to any of us at any time if you have thoughts, questions, or talents to share!
At each of our board meetings I am personally reminded of why I love working with the Enneagram of Personality- looking around the room during our closing circle I could see each of our gifts, talents and contributions represented. We are grateful to have welcomed two new faces to that circle- Chris Heuertz and Tamer Zanaty to the Global Board of Directors.
At IEA Global it is our mission to provide spaces to learn and connect and we are as committed to that as ever. We are standing with you in solidarity and hope for the health of all our communities.
This year may we find new ways to thrive together!
