Masters & Doctoral programmes in Forensic Psychology Accreditation Standards open for public consultation
The public consultation period for feedback on the draft Masters & Doctoral programmes in Forensic Psychology Accreditation Standards has opened.
The consultation period will be open from 9 September until 8 November 2024 and is part of the standard review process for accreditation standards.
The standards have already been through stage one of the review process with input from several stakeholders who have significant involvement in topics such as Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and Ethics. Feedback was collated, reviewed and incorporated into this current draft. Final formatting of the document will be completed post-consultation.
The standards were last reviewed and published in 2019. It was identified there were aspects of the standards that were outdated and inaccurate for the provision. The standards now include the HCPC Standards of Proficiencies and programme staff requirements have been reviewed.
This is to ensure consistency across stage one programmes and to ensure that programme staff are appropriately qualified to supervise and mark at D-Level. This is now in line with other stage one programmes.
Members are encouraged to send any feedback on the standards to ensure they are fit for purpose.
